"std::min" and "std:::max"

Postby ning » Mon May 10, 2010 3:54 pm

Recently I am trying to install tahoe on my Ubuntu9.10 and openSUSE 11.2 machine. Just want to point out one compiling issue which says "fstream.tcc ::,..::expected unqualified-id before ')' token. It turns out that f2c modules defines min() amd max() as macro in f2c.h. This lead to conflict with std::min and thus GCC then has no idea of "std::min". Comment out the macros in f2c.h and then the installation runs to the end successfully.

....in case somebody run into this issue and got lost.....

:)looks like f2c is not very good in the sense that standard c++ doesn't like it ins ome way:) On the other hand, standard is not always standard! New standard always replaces the old one and claim itself to be better for some unknown reasons... :)
